Voyageurs NP (Rainy Lake) - 5/31/25

Trip Day 11 - Saturday

0625-Clear, calm, sunny, temps 53 out, 58 in. Mosquito netting allowed me to sleep soundly and late.

0900-Finished my morning study time. Verse today is "As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead." (Jas 2:26). 

Breakfast is next then a hike around the island.

1120-Walked around the island then returned to the boat to watch a video by Bill Johnson on Finances.

Time to do the dishes.

1200-Dishes are done, will consider my next boat site so I know where I'm going tomorrow.

1250-Split firewood for tonight or tomorrow, depending on the evening moose recon timing. Now it is time to relax.

1550-Sat on the aft deck listening to music and sipping on some white wine.

Time for dinner so I fired up the grill.  Dinner was two burger sliders, chips, and an ice cold beer.  I will go back out on the aft deck again for some more relax time until I head out on my recon.

1800-Departed on the moose recon.

Heading Back

1930-Returned from the moose recon. No luck, no larger wildlife at all. However, I observed some Canada geese, a red head duck, bufflehead duck, as well as more mergansers.

Fished along the way but caught nothing. Tangled up my line twice and finally quit. 

I set up the bunk mosquito netting for tonight then headed out on the aft deck to enjoy a Baileys before bed.

2000-Listened to John Le Carres's "Agent Running In The Field" until it was time for the sack.
