Lake Kipawa, Quebec - 9/15/25

Trip Day 4 - Monday

0600-Clear and calm. 53F/46F. Slept good last night.

0730-Bible study verses for the day: "You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?" declares the LORD Almighty. "Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house. Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops. I called for a drought on the fields and the mountains, on the grain, the new wine, the olive oil and everything else the ground produces, on people and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands." (Hag 1:9-11).

0815-Time to make breakfast. 68F/49F, cool morning. Eggs, bacon, toast, and OJ are on the menu.

0900-Made two eggs over easy with bacon. Always great!

Cleaned up and starting packing up for departure. Retrieved the table and chair from shore along with my tripod and remaining firewood. Prepped the cams and drone.

Pulling The Lines For Departure

1010-Departed the site. Drone does not want to track correctly.

Beautiful fall day in beautiful country! My destination goal is the upper end of Canal Bay. There was an island picnic site near the entrance to the Bay.

Entering "The Canyon"

1130-Entrance to the lower Canal Bay is truly a canyon with high cliffs on both sides. Made a sharp right turn in shallow water and passed a second picnic site.  I kept going and made the left turn to continue up the Inlet.

The Canyon

Tight Quarters

1330-Eventually, I made it to the upper limit of the Bay and turned back a bit for a landing on what I call "The Rock", a small rock islet with only two larger trees. Even had a fire ring. I may have to search for more firewood with the dinghy. Traveled 7.5 miles.

Leg 2 Track

Tying Up

1500-Washed two days of accumulated dishes after heating up some leftover pizza to have with a cold beer to hold me until dinner.

1700-Flew the drone.

The Top End Of The Inlet, Called Hay Bay - Unique Islet Site

1730-Grilled steak, accompanied by mashed potatoes, salad, and red wine.

Island Plant Life

1830-Went ashore to set up the evening fire, camera, tripod, and chair.

Great Setting

1930-Started the fire and enjoyed the evening setting.

This Fire Was In A Rock Fire Ring

2100-Finally came in from the fire. Poured a Baileys while listening to an audio book, Jack Reacher's "The Hard Way".

A fine day! Time for bed.
